Choose Joy

It’s easy to feel like you’re supposed to be happy all the time. And maybe, in some ways, we are. But it’s also possible that we’ve been taught to think of happiness as an unrelenting glee that should never be interrupted by anything at all. This is a lie! There are times when sadness and grief are natural responses and even healthy ones—but there are also plenty of opportunities for joy if you just know where to look for them.

Give yourself permission to be joyful.

It is a choice to be joyful. You can choose to make the decision that joy is important to you and then choose to take action toward that goal.

It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it!

Surround yourself with people who make you feel good about yourself.

  • Spend time with people who are positive and upbeat. They can help lift your spirits when you’re feeling down, and they’ll be there for you when times are tough.
  • Spend time with people who are supportive and encouraging, even if their advice is not always what you want to hear! These kinds of friends will help keep your goals in mind, which is important because sometimes we lose sight of our own strengths when we’re busy focusing on our weaknesses or shortcomings (which often aren’t even real).

Spend time doing things that make you happy.

Try to do something new and different, even if it’s just for an hour or two.

A happier life is full of joy and happiness day by day.

Joy is a state of mind, and you can choose to be joyful even when things are not going your way.

If you want to be happier and more joyful, here are some ideas:

Be grateful for what you have in life. This includes relationships with family and friends, good health, a job that pays enough money for basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing – or whatever else makes up your list of priorities. When we think about what makes us happy in life we tend not to include those things which are already part of our daily lives but take them for granted because they seem so normal! Gratitude helps us realize how fortunate we really are.

Be positive about tomorrow too – don’t worry so much about what might go wrong tonight (or today). Tomorrow will come whether or not everything goes according to plan today so there’s no point worrying about something which hasn’t even happened yet anyway! If something doesn’t happen exactly as planned then try again another time instead of letting disappointment get the better part of you.

In the end, it’s up to you to decide how much joy you want in your life. If nothing else, we hope that these tips have helped you see how easy it is to bring more joy into your day-to-day activities. The most important thing is that you keep trying–even when things get tough!
